On February 18, 2017, Dr. Alison Behnke from Healthsource Chiropractic of Lakeville competed for the first time in the USA Powerlifting MN State Women’s Meet. The competition consists of squats, deadlifts and bench press. Each competitor gets three attempts at each level and there are three judges that watch each attempt to make sure they are performed to regulated standards.
Dr. Alison’s total was 312.5 kilograms! That equates to 688.94457 lbs!! Her best lifts were: Squat – 236 lbs; Bench Press – 148.5; Deadlift 282.5 lbs.
The Minnesota state chapter of USA Powerlifting oversees contests and maintains records and results under the authority of USA Powerlifting. With a collective national membership in excess of 15,000 members spread across all 50 states, USA Powerlifting has been America’s choice for drug-free powerlifting since 1980. USA Powerlifting operates as a 501(c)(3) non-profit organization and is the U.S. affiliate of the International Powerlifting Federation.
